AFHE lists these homeschool groups as a service to Arizona’s homeschool community at large. We do not necessarily have first-hand knowledge of all groups listed, nor do we necessarily endorse all groups listed on this site. We have done a level of review to try to ensure that all groups listed on the AFHE website exist to support and promote homeschooling as defined in Arizona Revised Statutes §15-802. Groups are listed below alphabetically by group name within their county. Please contact individual groups for additional information about their philosophy, purpose, membership requirements, dues, etc.

EDUCATING CHILDREN OUTDOORS

TYPE OF GROUP
Homeschool Club/Association
AREA
Queen Creek, Marana, Show Low, Glendale, Casa Grande
EMPHASIS
Eclectic
FORMAT
ECO is a 100% outdoor, place-based program that is similar to the "forest school" programs prevalent across Europe, minus the forest. Instead we have a wondrous, beautiful, and biologically diverse desert to explore, so we refer to our program model as a  "desert school."  We are one of the few 100% outdoor desert schools across the world. Our mission is to immerse children in connecting with the natural world.  Through ECO, children learn about and explore nature through cross-curricular, hands-on, experiential activities, so that they will develop knowledge about, love for, and dedication to nature's wonders.
