Every year AFHE hosts a leadership conference for support group, co-op, club and resource center leaders who serve the Arizona homeschool community. We invite these leaders to come be encouraged, inspired and refreshed to continue doing the work set out before them. This event is an invitation only event and the opportunity to attend the leadership conference is a benefit of being affiliated with AFHE and having their group info listed on our wesite and our mobile app. If you would like to attend and are not currently affiliated with AFHE, please consider applying HERE.

This year we would like to thank Covenant Home School Resource Center for partnering with us in hosting the Annual Leadership Conference.

Colene Lewis

Colene Lewis homeschooled her daughters through high school in a home where learning was a joy and a way of life. Earning scholarships, each girl excelled at college in biology, engineering, English, and law. More importantly, all three women are walking with the Lord and now raising their own families. Alongside her husband, Tom, Colene served on the board of AFHE for over 13 years. She encourages homeschooling families with speaking, writing, and service. Colene and Heather Haupt are developing the Go Together Curriculum, easy-to-implement, relationship-building, literature heavy, and movement rich curricula covering history, science, geography, art, and more.

Tim Griffin

Tim Griffin, EdD, joined GCU in 2010 and currently serves as the dean of students, university pastor and vice president of student affairs. Dr. Griffin has a Bachelors degree in Theology, a Master of Arts degree in Ministry and a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership. Dr. Griffin has a professional background that includes public speaking, leadership, fundraising and resource management. He has served for more than 25 years in clergy positions, ranging from being a pastor and chaplain to university minister.

Pam Spinker

Pam Spinker loves Jesus, is a wife, and homeschooling mom of six. When she was in her early twenties, she knew her career path, her skills, and what areas she could be of service to others. Not long into her homeschooling journey, she realized that she was no longer able to answer the question, “what are you good at?”. She, like so many moms, had forgotten what she was created to do. After spending several years journeying to rediscover her Kingdom purpose, she clearly heard Holy Spirit’s calling to guide other moms on their own journey of remembering Whose they are, and who they are created to be. Her calling and her life’s desire is to guide women to the belief and understanding that they are created in God’s image with a purpose for His Kingdom. Even a moms with littles running around can use her gifts in the home, in her community, or maybe even in a small home-based business.
