Parking is plentiful near the Phoenix Convention Center. Parking will cost approximately $10-$15 per day. The Jefferson Street Garage is located just across the street on the south side of the Phoenix Convention Center South Building.

Visit www.downtownphoenix.com for an interactive map with parking, restaurants, and road construction updates.

    CHILDREN

We love children and want to include them whenever possible. This pre-convention three-hour seminar is geared for adults and teen writers, however, and takes place during exhibitor set-up for the AFHE Home Education Convention. There is no place available for children to play or hang out on-site during the Writing to Publish seminar. For your children's safety and to allow you and the other participants to be able to get the most out of the seminar, we ask that you make childcare arrangements for your children. Only those who have purchased a ticket will be permitted in the workshop room. Nursing infants are welcome, but we ask that if they become noisy that you step out of the room until they are quieted so as not to be a distraction to other attendees.

    AFHE CONVENTION

NOTE: Admission to the Writing to Publish seminar does not include admission to the AFHE Convention July 11-12. To hear more great encouragement and helpful ideas from Carol Barnier, we encourage you to register for the AFHE Convention as well. Carol will be teaching eight workshops during the AFHE Convention. ABOUT THE SPEAKER

AFHE Convention Speaker - Carol Barnier

Carol Barnier, homeschooler for 19 years, is a fun and popular conference speaker unlike any other. She strives to have the wit of Erma Bombeck crossed with the depth of C.S. Lewis, but admits that most days she only achieves a solid Lucy Ricardo with a bit of Bob the Tomato. She’s the author of four books, mother to three children, and wife to one husband. She’s also a frequent guest commentator on Focus on the Family's Weekend Magazine broadcast, where she's spoken on a variety of humorous topics. While her humor will have you leaning sideways, her faith is solid stuff. Whether speaking about her first born son’s 13 surgeries, her homeschooling challenges, her family’s many ADHD challenges, or her own walk from being a God-denying atheist to the most grateful recipient of God’s amazing grace, this woman speaks from the heart. She knows why she knows what she knows.
