AFHE Welcomes New Board Couple
Rich and Heather Haupt
AFHE is pleased to introduce our newest board members, Rich and Heather Haupt. We look forward to working alongside Rich and Heather in serving Arizona's homeschool community.
Rich and Heather met in 1997 at ASU. Heather, an Arizona native and homeschool grad, introduced Rich to the wonderful and sometimes wacky world of homeschooling! Having only known one “weird” homeschooler during his childhood, Rich was drawn to the flourishing and vibrant homeschooling community here in Arizona. They married in 2000 and now homeschool their four children: Xander (8), Keegan (6), Treyton (4) and Greta (1).
Rich has worked as a Retirement/Financial Advisor for the last 12 years. He is a numbers guy and loves helping families plan for the future. He is fiercely competitive and enjoys beating Heather at any and every strategy game that she’ll play with him. Since she has a competitive streak herself, this isn’t a hard sell. They eagerly anticipate the quickly approaching season of family game nights as the boys start branching out beyond Candy Land and Sorry.
Heather is passionate about inspiring parents to pursue a loving, holistic, and developmentally appropriate approach to education. She enjoys blogging and speaking on this topic whenever possible.
Rich and Heather look forward to working with AFHE in encouraging and strengthening homeschool families in Arizona.
