About Sharon Grimes:

Sharon Grimes has been married to her best friend, Dennis, for 29 years. She is a pastor’s wife and experienced mother of 6 growing children & young adults in a variety of ages and stages from 10-27, including a daughter who lost most of her hearing to a vaccination as a baby. They have two home school and college graduates, now in the “courtship” phase of life, and have a third child graduating from home school in 2007.

Home educators since 1983, Sharon and Dennis are graduates of Maranatha Baptist Bible College (MBBC) in Watertown, WI and now live in Central New York, where Dennis pastors a small, independent Baptist church.

Founders of New York State LEAH in 1983, the Grimes have led a local support group and home school co-op under the umbrella of their local church, and also network with and support leaders on the national level through Sharon’s speaking ministry.

Sharon was honored as “Alumna of the Year” in 1991 by MBBC for her contributions to the home education movement, and has been a popular speaker at state home school conventions since 1985 because of the practical counsel and inspiration she gives to parents from the heart of a pastor’s wife and knowledge of a veteran home educator.

Sharon has a real burden to minister to the heart needs of home schooling women in particular, and has three goals as a speaker: to edify (build up), exhort (challenge), and encourage - and have fun while doing it!
