2006 Convention THE 23RD ANNUAL Transforming the Culture
... A record crowd of 4,205 attended AFHE’s 23rd Annual Home Educators Convention and Curriculum Fair. Over a dozen speakers from all over the country spoke at this year’s convention offering inspiration, wisdom, and practical advice. Doug Philips opened the conference on Friday morning sharing a vision for Christianity and culture, and Jeff Myers gave the keynote address on Saturday encouraging parents to pass the baton on to their children. Vicki Bentley, Carol Barnier, and Maggie Hogan offered loads of laughs and practical wisdom on everything from teaching over-active children to designing high school transcripts. Convention attendees enjoyed browsing the exhibit hall (with nearly 140 vendors) searching for curriculum, resources, books, supplies, bargains, rare finds, and some of the newest items on the market. Thank you for the many kind words you wrote in your feedback surveys, along with many useful suggestions. The most common complaint this year was it was too cold. This was quite a contrast to the record-breaking 118 degree weather outside on Friday! May God bless you all as you start your homeschool year. Make plans to
come back and see us next time in the brand new West building of the Phoenix
